Today, Turbine announced that their free-to-play MOBA, Infinite Crisis will be shutting down August 14, 2015. The DC comics-based game has already ceased development starting today and will indefinitely close down its service on the stated date. Despite having an appealing theme which offers a fresh take on the ever-growing MOBA genre, Infinite Crisis did not attract a substantial amount of players to maintain its service 2 months after its initial release.
“After much deliberation, we regret to announce the official shutdown of Infinite Crisis. We will end development efforts today and will close the service on August 14, 2015. This was an extremely difficult decision to make. On behalf of the entire Infinite Crisis team we want to thank all of you for your feedback, support and for joining together to create one of the best communities in gaming.”
The game will remain free-to-play and all Steam customers who purchased either “The Starter Pack” or “The Elite Pack” will get a refund.
