The Elder Scrolls Online has had a very rough year since its launch back April 2014, this MMO version of the popular franchise attracted almost all their fanbase and MMO lovers alike, but the game didn’t look “massively” just a few months after it was released. Although the game delivers all aspects of a great MMO, it failed to retain a major portion of its players because of one blemish: its monthly subscription fee. There has been news since last year regarding a change in the game’s monetization model, and today, it is finally official, The Elders Scrolls Online is now subscription free. Players can now access the continent of Tamriel by purchasing the game itself (one time fee). Though the game is still not fully free-to-play, this still benefits players looking to play the game long-term. The game has also been relaunched as “The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited” to signify this change.
