There has been recent rumors that Pokemon Go will be released in SEA this week. Pokemon Go is widely anticipated in Asia ever since it’s initial launch in New Zealand, Australia, US and Germany, but Niantic, Pokemon Go’s developer recently released their official statement regarding Pokemon Go’s launch in Asia and other territories. During an email conversation between IGN and Chris Kramer of FortySeven.com, an agency representing Niantic, Pokemon Go will not be available in other countries any time soon.
The team is currently heads down working on the game. We do not have any announced plans for countries beyond New Zealand, Australia, US and Germany at the moment.
The rumors began in SEAn countries where Pokemon culture is immensely popular such as Indonesia, The Philippines, Malaysia. Fansites, in hopes of a SEA release, speculated that Pokemon Go will be available in the region due to the game’s prior server upgrades to handle more players.
