Game developer – Mechanist Games, has just announced that City of Steam: Arkadia will be shutting down. City of Steam initially launched over 6 years ago and was later released on Steam back 2014. According to Mechanist Games, there were a number of factors that led them to this decision:
A number of factors went into this decision, the decline of Unity support in the browser is one of them – Google Chrome no longer supports NPAPI plugins like the Unity Webplayer, and Microsoft’s next browser, Edge, won’t either.
City of Steam’s payment services have already been suspended and all of the game servers are set to fully shut down on January 31st, 2016.
To cherish the last remaining days, Mechanist Games is hosting an event to thank all who supported City of Steam.
